Raghav Chadha Quits AAP, Joins BJP Along with Several MPs

In a significant political development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has resigned from the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with several other AAP MPs. The move has triggered a major shift in the political landscape, particularly in the Rajya Sabha.

According to reports, nearly two-thirds of AAP’s Rajya Sabha members have aligned with Chadha in this decision, enabling them to merge with BJP under constitutional provisions and avoid disqualification under the anti-defection law. Prominent leaders including Swati Maliwal, Harbhajan Singh, Ashok Mittal, and others are said to be part of this development.

Raghav Chadha, while announcing his decision, cited ideological differences and internal issues within AAP, stating that the party had deviated from its founding principles. He also pointed to growing dissatisfaction within the party’s leadership structure.

Reacting strongly, AAP leaders have termed the development as “politically motivated” and alleged attempts to weaken the party. On the other hand, BJP leaders have welcomed the move, calling it a reflection of growing confidence in the party’s leadership and governance.

This development is expected to significantly impact AAP’s strength in the Rajya Sabha and may influence political equations in states like Punjab, where AAP holds considerable presence.
Further updates are awaited as the situation continues to evolve.
