Raghav Chadha Appointed Chairman of Rajya Sabha Committee on Petitions

Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has been appointed as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Committee on Petitions following the reconstitution of the parliamentary panel by Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan. The appointment came into effect from May 20.

According to the Rajya Sabha notification, the committee has been reconstituted with 10 members. Apart from Raghav Chadha, the panel includes Harsh Mahajan, Gulam Ali, Shambhu Sharan Patel, Mayankkumar Nayak, Masthan Rao Yadav Beedha, Jebi Mather Hisham, Subhasish Khuntia, Rwngwra Narzary and Sandosh Kumar P.

The Committee on Petitions is an important parliamentary body that examines petitions and public grievances submitted by citizens regarding legislation and public matters. The committee also makes recommendations to the House after reviewing such petitions.

Raghav Chadha, who recently joined the BJP after leaving the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has now been entrusted with this key parliamentary responsibility in the Upper House.
